You must get into the depth of this color by understanding the LRV, undertones and the warmth level of this color. The more you get into this color, the more the chances of you falling in love with it.

Beacon Gray Color Quick Overview

Beacon Gray is a gray color that has a prominent tint of blue which makes you question the name. It has the hex code of #CDD7DE with RGB value of 205, 215, 222 which makes it a soft blue with a gray base paint.

This, in turn, makes it warm rather than a cool-toned blue. Beacon Gray is a perfect color for you if you want something simple with less saturation, yet it gives the house a subtle warmth.

LRV

Beacon Gray has that perfect amount of brightness and depth which makes it a balanced gray color.

The LRV of  Beacon gray is 65.9, which is going to reflect more in a room that gets ample light and will create depth in a dim or low-light room.

If you want to pair it in a room, go with the low LRV colors that can bring contrast to this color and enhance it visually. With this LRV, it can instantly make any room brighter and richer in appearance.

Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray Undertones

When it comes to undertones, Beacon Gray has two major undertones – soft blue and light gray. The dominant undertone in Beacon Gray is blue which gives it a fresh and airy vibe.

The secondary undertones consist of neutral gray which keeps the color grounded and more versatile and prevents it from looking icy or baby blue.

Is Beacon Gray warm or cool?

Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray is a cool-toned paint color because it has soft blue undertones which gives it a fine and fresh feel. Its gray base keeps it balanced with its undertones while the blue helps it look cooler and more saturated.

In bright natural light, beacon gray can look more blue while in lower or warm lighting, it softens and appears more neutral and gray.

You can use this color in the bathroom, bedroom and exterior where it fits the best and looks more natural.

Review of Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray From My Own Experience

Review of Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray From My Own Experience

So this is the story of around 2025, when we got our first house and after doing everything now it was time to choose a color. Not any normal color, we wanted a color of our dream just like our house. But the answers were in abundance and our choice was limited, just a single color.

Then somehow through the onlineBenjamin Moore Beacon Gray reviews, we landed on this beautiful Blue-gray color and just went with it in our whole house.

Let’s discuss all the things in more detail and understand the depth of this color.

Application And Finish

So after we bought the paint and opened the gallon, it looked like a medium dark gray-blue color but after painting our living room wall, we saw the true nature of this color.

The way it instantly brightens our room really puts a wide smile on our faces. We chose the eggshell finish for the living room because of the high traffic.

Our living room is on the south which gets the most amount of light and there you can perfectly see what this color is. But we still advise people to please do a wall test before painting any wall and examine it throughout the day.

Maintenance And Durability

After painting the wall, I have never repainted it to this date and the reason for that is the Benjamin Moore Regal Select. The maintenance is low, superior coverage, highly durable and what can I say more.

It covers all the things that are necessary for the maintenance and durability of the paint.

We just clean our walls with mild soap or detergent with a light sponge and don’t do anything extra.

Cost And Availability

For the cost, the Benjamin Moore website is always available, where you can get what type and sheen of paint you need for your house.

We purchased the Regal one which cost us $80 per gallon in the Eggshell sheen.

Besides this website there are many other ones or you can always purchase from your local retailer where you can get a good amount of discount. Benjamin Moore paints are generally available in every state of the U.S.

In Different Lighting And Space

So in the north room, Beacon Gray BM looks light blue or icy type because of the low-lighting or cool ambience of the room. While in the south it looks more warm and grounded rather than cool blue.

And if you have painted an east-facing room then you might see it as a warm and fresh color. In the west facing room where you will only get the evening light, will make this color more slightly warm and cozy.

In cool lighting it has the same effects as in the north-facing room and with the warm lighting it looks the same as in the south-facing room.

Spaces That Work Exceptionally Well With Beacon Gray

Spaces That Work Exceptionally Well With Beacon Gray

Beacon Gray can be used in different places in the house rather than being limited to one space of the house. This will create a neutral flow of color throughout the whole house and make it more coordinated and well-balanced.

These are some palaces where Beacon Gray Benjamin Moore can work perfectly well and suit the aesthetic vibe of the place.

In the bedroom, you can use this color with the white trims and soft, muted color furniture to get a minimal and light theme in the house.

This color will look good with white trims, ceiling, windows and doors which makes it brighter and well complemented.

Dark wooden flooring will bring contrast to the space but that’s not the only place where you can use it.

Wood accent furniture and fixtures with this color make the space richer and well aligned with the color palette of the house.

Beacon Gray Benjamin Moore Bathroom

In the bathroom, this is the best color to match the cool and spa-like vibe of the area. You can pair this color with white trims or fixtures for variety and to balance the blue tones of this color.

If you painted the walls in Beacon Gray then go for the same in the cabinets with black knobs.

For the fixtures, you can go with black or silver and in the flooring, a white quartz one will also work.

This is the exact setting we chose for our house and still, whenever I enter the room, I always get mesmerised by the look of it. It feels like you enter some other realm.

Beacon Gray holds the power to make the exterior more coastal-looking and bright with its light blue tones and gray base.

Or the opposite will also work, just paint the doors, trim and shutters in the Beacon Blue while keeping the other things in pure white.

Green planters or landscaping is the key to adding color to the house and making it more vivid and profound.

When to Choose Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray?

Under this heading, we will see how the same color can make your space brighter while making a different space totally dull and miserable.

That’s why choosing a color according to the space’s lighting and dimensions is very important.

Choose Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray

It brightens up and opens the spaces of the room and the reason for that is the medium range LRV of this color. It is great for smaller rooms and apartments or any area that receives very minimal light.

And if you want a modern and clean appearance, then using this color will be a great choice for you.

Moreover, it is a very versatile color that you can pair with any color you like such as bright whites, wood accent or any cool tone neutrals.

When Not To Choose Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray

If you need a true gray color, then this can look too blue for you, especially in the North-facing room, cool lighting or spaces with minimal natural light.

Beacon Gray can shift a lot in different lighting or throughout the day. Bright daylight can make this color more blue and airy while in warm artificial light, you can see the silvery gray tones.

Since it is the lighter shade, it may feel too light for the accent walls and washed out in very large rooms without any contrast.

Conclusion

In the end, choosing Beacon Gray Benjamin Moore is a decision that’s simply too good to overlook. This color will ultimately take over the whole house and turn into a space that looks visually intimidating and worthwhile.

As we see, how different spaces, lighting and colors can really help Beacon Gray BM to be the best version of itself and achieve a high place in the hearts of people.

Like, it’s just too good to ignore and even harder to regret. The versatility of this color makes it very friendly with other colors in the house.

At the end of the day, Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray proves itself to be a color that can go with any generation and is still considered trendy and modern in design.

The more you use this color the better you will get in praising your interior and this color.
