What is the LRV of Eider White Sherwin Williams?

As compared to stark whites, Eider White is a color shifting more towards grayish undertones. With an LRV as high as that of 73, the color is quite bright as compared to other grays.

We are getting two undertones here, one is gray and other is soft purple undertone, yet the amount of light that is being reflected here is quite high.

And this high LRV helps in maintaining an airy and open appearance especially in abundant light.

In bright light it looks grayish white. However the color may look a little drowned in the soft tones of purple when there is little to no light. It may feel slightly cool or low.

What are the undertones of Eider White Sherwin Williams?

The undertones of Eider White Sherwin Williams are characterised into two namely, primary and secondary undertones. The undertones shift depending upon the amount of light being received via natural or artificial lighting.

Primary Undertone Cool Gray

Primary-Undertones cool gray
Primary undertone cool gray

This is the primary undertone that is seen when an ample amount of light is being passed in or around the space.Warmer gray comes into play as and when received a certain amount of light.

This secondary undertone is visible when there is little or no light visible.

When the light is dim or a little low the soft purple undertone is quite visible.

Personally it would be the primary undertone that is cool gray, a choice for my spaces.

In well lit areas, Eider White Sherwin Williams will come out really luxurious and elegant.

My Honest Review of Eider White Sherwin Williams

In this section we will be discussing how this exuberant color turned out for me. In my 4 years of experience with Eider White HC 7014, this color turned really royal for my concerned spaces.

I used this in various spaces within my home and even in exterior spaces.

Initial look and shade of the color

At first be mindful enough to locate a store that sells this product.

Secondly, keep your head clear about where you are going to locate these colors in your space. Thirdly, once done with these two go through a swatch test.

A sample swatch test of 8’’*8” peel and stick would cost around $3.95 each.

Go through your space once again to see how many of them you would need. I needed around 6-7 samples for my space.

After having put a sample swatch to test, I found the places where it will work aptly and then came our second part to re-do the spaces and paint them Eider White Sherwin Williams.

Spaces Recreated

I have used this in different spaces at home including bathroom, kitchen cabinets and garage area.

We will be discussing each one of these to give you more insights about the re-decoration of spaces at home.

For my kitchen area, I used it with SW iron ore on my kitchen cabinets.

Eider white sherwin williams kitchen cabinets look as royal as one can imagine.

The contrasting look spread its vibrance like no other color could. Along with golden accessories the entire look was flawless.

For my garage, I used it with a softer color SW evergreen fog because of the nearby surroundings.

Along with planters outside the garage, the entire area looked heavily booked at the same time very airy and fresh.

For my bathroom this helped me tone down an accent wall that was painted with SW Night Owl.

Eider White Sherwin Williams bathroom looked ethereal. Paired along with that were white accessories that helped enhance the area even more.

Lighting Considerations

Seeing chameleon-like characteristics was a key aspect in all my spaces.

Since it already has a grayish undertone and in lowly, dim lit areas the soft blue undertone comes into action.

I preferred highly lit areas and thus I aided the color wherever possible with appropriate lighting.
In my garage, I preferred medium to high lighting because of its location outdoors. It looked great.

For my bathroom, I used enough lighting to accentuate my powder room as well.

The accent wall, painted with Night Owl appeared so beautiful paired with Eider White HC 7014.

For my kitchen area, the space again is well lit because of obvious reasons.

Please do keep in mind the undertone sensitivity wherever you are using the color. This is the only thing when it comes to lighting that should not lose focus.

Paint Finish and application

I feel the finish of any color is dependent mainly on where and how it is located.

If an area is open to dust then of course, go for high-gloss or semi-gloss finish. Otherwise, low maintenance areas can be done with satin or egg-shell finish.

I went for a semi-gloss finish in my bathroom and high-gloss for my garage area.

For my kitchen area I went for a high- gloss finish. I desired a finish where I didn’t have to go through the struggle of cleaning and cater to its need of high maintenance.

Maintenance and Durability

One of the best characteristics of this paint is its low maintenance and higher durability.

As I have already used this at home, I can assure you this might be the color that you are looking for.

I had used 2 coats and each coat brought with it its own richness and royalty.

Clearly this color required little to no maintenance because of its texture maybe.

I didn’t have to go through the hustle of cleaning it everyday. The color maintained itself well.

The paint has lasted now for more than 4 years and is as it was earlier with some scuffs here and there.

Thus the durability is quite high as compared to other paints at home.
