Greige According To The Space And Dimensions

Greige Benjamin Moore Bedroom
Greige Benjamin Moore Bedroom

Every space has its own vibe, ambience and tones that make that space more alluring and perfectly synchronised.

We just have to perfectly color-by-color join the pieces together to get the best out of that room.

The lighting and the dimensions of that room play a crucial role in deciding which Greige Benjamin Moore will suit it.

Bedroom with Warm Greige Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray Bedroom
Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray Bedroom

The bedroom requires a soft, warm and restful interior which calms the mind instantly.

And to get that you need warm colors in the greiges and have an LRV from 55 to 70, which feels warmer in the night.

Small or dark bedrooms should choose colors like pale oak or revere pewter to extend the edges of that room.

A light or bright bedroom can go with mid-tone greige that offers a serene and closed-in visual.

Try to avoid very cool greige that looks more gray than beige.

These colors can make the room cold and chilly at night.

My picks: Pale Oak, Edgecomb Gray, Revere Pewter and Collingwood.

Bathroom with Light Greige Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore Classic Grey Bathroom

Your bathroom needs a clean and spa-like interior that will change your mood magically.

This type of interior can only be achieved by cool-toned colors that harmonize with the bathroom.

In small bathrooms, you can go with high LRV greiges for a bigger feel and if you have lots of white tiles, then greige will definitely help you in balancing that.

For a bigger bathroom, mid-range greige will work well and make it more enclosed and warm.

My picks would be: Classic Gray, Balboa Mist, Nimbus 1465.

Kitchen with Greige by Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore Collingwood Kitchen

Your kitchen needs a very warm ambience to look pleasing enough so that whenever you enter, the calmness and harmony always sit beside you.

Light greige offers great reflection in the kitchen to make it airy and open (best for a small area).

A mid-range gray perfectly ties everything together to achieve warmth and coziness.

White cabinets and stone counters then adding greige on the walls, softens the kitchen ambience.

Wood cabinets with greige on the backsplash and in the walls make the overall temperature warm.

And if you are a fan of black and steel, then Griege can make the palette cohesive.

My choice: Collingswood, Edgecomb Gray, Balboa Mist.

Living Room with Popular Greiges by BM

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter Living Room
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter Living Room

The living room vibes on your preferences and the vibe you want from the living room, it can be warm and cozy or cool and modern.

Whatever you choose, it has to be warm and welcoming anyhow.

Light to mid greiges whose LRVs are from 50-65 and have neutral-warm undertones, inviting and modern.

A small living room can be opened up by adding lighter greige to it, whereas a large one needs mid greige to add depth and an inviting look.

And try to avoid very pale greiges if you have wood or any pale furniture, as this can wash out the overall interior.

You need a balance in the walls and the furniture.

My choice: Revere Pewter, Pale Oak, Collingswood, Edgecomb gray.

How To Choose the Right Greige?

Choosing the right greige is not an easy task—you have to consider the LRV, undertones and lighting.

And very importantly, the shade that matches your entire decor, furniture and the theme.

It just can’t be a shade that looks pretty to you and has a nice color—this isn’t enough when choosing a shade for your house.

I have listed pretty much everything for you to understand the process of selecting the right shade.

Understand the Undertones of the Greiges

Greige is not just about the gray and beige paint; it always has a hidden undertone that can be seen in different lighting.

Warm greige naturally has beige, brown or yellow undertones which help add warmth to the interior.

While cool grige leans towards purple, blue or gray undertones which makes them feel modern.

The dark or taupe greige balanced the overall look and is the safest to choose.

Always look at the darkest shade of greige on the color strip to compare all other greiges.

Or place your selected color on the side of a pure gray or pure beige to understand the true undertones of that color.

Understand the Lighting

The north-facing room gets cooler light so always pick warm or dark greiges for this room type to tackle the bluish tones.

South–facing rooms get warmer and brighter lights to balance the room, add cool tones griges to it.

So always check the lighting of the room before painting it with any color of your choice.

Morning, noon and artificial lights influence the undertones and the color significantly, so always test them in these times.

Check LRV

The easiest and most efficient way by which you can check the lrv of a color at home.

Place the greige color beside a pure white color.

If the color looks almost white or doesn’t have any differences, then it has a high LRV.

If the color looks mid then it has medium lrv or if it looks dark, then high lrv can be expected.

In a small room, high LRV Greiges make perfect sense while in large rooms, low LRV Greiges offer a more closed-in and deep aesthetic.

Consider The Flooring And The Palette Of The House

While selecting the color for the house, the flooring, the palette and the furniture of the house play a crucial role.

If the house has wood and warm-toned furniture and fixtures consider warm greige.

If the theme of the house is cool and modern, then cool tone greige which has more gray in it, would look good.

You have two options: change the furniture according to the color that you have chosen or choose a color that perfectly harmonizes with your furniture and decor.

Coordinating Colors That Harmonize With Greiges

Greige Benjamin Moore shades are very versatile because of thier perfect balance of warm beige and cool gray.

These colors are easy to work with and harmonize with any dark or light color.

It generally contains colors like whites, dark charcoals and brown, sage green, navy or wood tones.

Warm hues like Revere Pewter Benjamin Moore, Edgecomb gray or Pashmina look good with colors like red, oranges, brown or black.

Cool colors like Nimbus 1465, Thunder or Balboa Mist OC-27 work great with greens, blues, white or even purple.

For the metals gold, bronze, silver or platinum all look sophisticated and make the ambience rich.

You can use these colors in the trims, windows, doors, adjacent wall or just have a greige benjamin moore exterior to make the curb appealing.

Colors like white dove or simply white oc-117 work best in the ceiling or as a trim.

Wrought iron, Salamander or Chelsea gray can be used in the furniture, fixtures or as a contrasting color in the wall to complement the greige perfectly.

The colors are as follows:

Whites (trim/cabinets/ceilings)

  • Chantilly Lace  OC-65

  • Simply White  OC-117

Soft Neutrals (layering with greige)
