House Hunting in Dubai: Why a Rental Car Makes Property Viewings Easier

Finding a home means more than finding an apartment.

Looking for a place in Dubai can look quite simple at first.

The websites are flooded with property offers online, the photos usually look good, and there aren’t any challenges in arranging several viewings in a short time.

An apartment may look suitable, but the neighbourhood may be less attractive from the perspective of the distance to cover between work, school, shops or other places that matter in everyday life.

Another property may be more convenient, but reaching it every morning could mean spending much more time on the road.

This is why property viewings should not be limited to the apartment itself.

The surrounding area and the usual route to it deserve attention as well.

Why a Car Can Make Property Viewings Easier

Dubai is a huge city, and whatever looks relatively close on a map may take much more time to reach.

When several viewings are planned for one day, this becomes even more noticeable.

A private car gives more freedom to move between different areas and adjust the schedule when an appointment changes.

For visitors who want to keep their options open, rental cars without deposit should solve the problem of flexibility, giving complete freedom to navigate the city on their terms.

There is no need to rent an expensive vehicle just for house hunting.

A rental car with good air conditioning would be more than enough for most errands throughout the day in the UAE.

The important thing is that the car should be comfortable enough for several hours of driving and have enough interior space.

Look at the Neighbourhood, Not Only the Property

A half-hour viewing with the real estate agent should be enough to introduce the client to a property and maybe meet the owner, but yet quite short to form an image of a particular neighborhood.

It is worth driving around the neighbourhood after the viewing for ten to fifteen minutes.

Beyond the house, it leaves quite a decent amount of issues to solve while living there: how hard parking a car gets, where the nearest supermarket is, and what the actual road traffic situation is.

Families may also want to take a glance at the schools or kindergartens, resting areas or parks and other places they would visit regularly.

A similar point applies to the daily commute. A property that seems attractive because of its rent or interior design may lose its appeal if the daily drive to destinations takes too long.

This is one of the advantages of renting a car for house hunting.

Instead of just touring a house, it allows you to experience the atmosphere from the perspective of someone who might actually live there.

Choosing the Right Rental Car

The car itself does not have to be complicated.

Its size should mainly depend on the people travelling and the number of properties being visited.

A couple viewing apartments may be perfectly comfortable in a compact car. A family with children, luggage and several bags may prefer more interior and boot space.

A larger SUV can also be useful when visiting villa communities or when the day involves a lot of driving.

Mileage is another detail worth checking with the car rental company.

If several districts are being covered in one day, a rental with a very limited mileage allowance may become less attractive once additional charges are considered.

Air conditioning deserves attention as well, as mentioned before.

Dubai’s climate can make even a short walk between the car and a building uncomfortable, especially in the warmer months.

A properly working AC is not an optional luxury for a day spent travelling between property viewings.

Do Not Rush the Final Decision

Once several properties have been viewed, it is easy to focus on the apartment that looked best in the photographs or had the nicest interior.

It is better to take some time and compare the whole situation.

How long will the normal journey take? Is the area convenient for shopping? Is parking practical? Does the neighbourhood suit the daily routine?

A rental car cannot choose a home, of course. It can make the search less restrictive and give a better idea of what living in each location would actually involve.

In the end, the right property is not only the one with a high-end interior or a pleasant view outside. It is the place that helps you to keep up with the pace of everyday life.

A little extra time spent driving around Dubai before signing a lease can narrow down the choice and help you make the right decision that is easy to miss during a short property viewing.
