Imagine walking into a room wrapped in calming forest tones, that’s exactly what Oak Moss Sherwin-Williams creates.

I know you might be thinking that green can’t be your color.

Either your house will look like a forest or people will question your choice of color.

No, that’s not what’s going to happen at all. Trust me and this color.

Oakmoss SW 6180 is a muted green with rich earthy tones that give a sense of the forests’ calmness and natural tones.

It’s grounded and deeper than any other light green color and because of it gives warmth and depth to the interior.

I know you are confused and don’t know what to do or where to use this color in your house spaces.

You don’t have to worry, from the “perfect place to put this color” to its coordinating color.

I will explain all the things in detail with my own experience and trials.

And make your house interior or exterior worthy of people’s praise.

What are the undertones of SW Oak Moss?

Oakmoss SW 6180

Sherwin-Williams Oakmoss 6180 has yellow, gray and brown tones, giving the house a natural, sophisticated and grounded look.

With the olive green undertones it gives an organic and muted vibe to the house interior.

The warm yellow tones in it keep the color from feeling cold and make the green welcoming.

The gray undertones balance the boldness of this color.

It makes the space less bright and more subtle and modern.

In low light or evening light, you can see the light brown hints in this color.

Brown gives a sense of coziness and harmony every time you see this paint on your house walls.

So, before applying this paint, I want you to do a stick-and-peel test to see if that particular space enhances this color’s features or not.

Undertones very much depend on the natural light, low-light, warm lighting and the room dimensions.

So choose this color if it satisfies these particular points.

What is the LRV of SW Oak Moss?

Light reflectance value measured from 0 (pure black) to 100 (pure white).

The zero absorbs all the light, while the pure white reflects the most light.

Now comes to oak moss 6180, this color has an LRV of 13 which means it reflects very little light making the space deep and dramatic.

In bright natural light, you can see a warmer and olive-toned shade of this color.

Whereas in the low light or north-facing rooms, this shade becomes darker and moodier.

Which makes the space enclosed and cozier.

Under artificial lights, Oakmoss SW 6180 looks more earthy and heavier.

In this lighting, the gray undertones of it look prominent.

Low LRV works best in living rooms with good windows, bedrooms for cozy ambiance, accent walls and cabinetry etc.

Oak Moss Sherwin-Williams Review — My Personal Experience

Oak Moss Sherwin Williams on wall

After scrolling through the Instagram and Pinterest feeds, I selected this color for my bedroom.

I always wanted a color that looks calm, natural and relaxed. To my knowledge, Oak Moss Sherwin-Williams exactly gives this feel.

So I painted my bedroom walls with this and put white curtains and wood fixtures to complement it.

And the decor was to die for.

If you want a decor that can make your reputation high and feel modern and amazing, you can definitely go with this color.

But before that, understand oak moss a little better.

Finish and Texture Of Oakmoss Sherwin-Williams

When I applied it to my bedroom walls, it gave off an eggshell shine because it has a soft sheen and it adds dimension and depth to the house interior.

Oak moss provides a lively but vibrant visual for the interior.

On paper, it looks just dark green but when I applied it on the walls I saw the variety of its undertones and color.

At night, my bedroom feels cozy and relaxed and in the morning, it gives me a vibrant and refreshing feel.

Maintenance and Durability Of Oakmoss Paint

Maintenance depends on what kind of paint you use.

A sheen or high-gloss finish requires minimal to no cleaning.

You just clean it with mild soap and a damp sponge.

These finishes are most washable and durable which are perfect for the high-interactive areas.

For matte finish, I would suggest using it on the less interactive areas like ceilings to protect the paint from abrasions and marks.

If you apply it properly, it can resist fading.

Semi-gloss and satin finish stand up well to any type of moisture, so they are also great options for you.

Availability and Cost

I used only one gallon of Oak Moss which costs me around $120 for an eggshell finish.

Generally, the cost is around 60 to 150 dollars which also depends on the kind of finish you are choosing and the paint line.

These are available at Sherwin-Williams stores nationwide.

An online option is also available, where you can easily order it while sitting at home.

You can also avail a discount if you purchase in bulk.

Some stores may run out of popular colors during busy seasons, so it’s always a good idea to purchase enough for the whole project at once.

Sherwin Williams Oakmoss Coordinating Colors: Contrasted and Enhanced Visual

What colors go with oak moss? To be more specific, the colors that go with a particular color are called coordinating colors.

These are colors that work together without competing for attention.

They support the main color by creating balance, contrast or softness in a space.

These are chosen to enhance the main paint color and make the overall decor intentional and harmonious.

To stand out oak moss sherwin williams use coordinating color in wall trims, backsplash, exterior siding or even in furniture.

Oakmoss cabinets and Clary Sage walls in the kitchen offer a homely and warm space that feels just like a home.

Oak Moss Sherwin-Williams Equivalent: That you can get confused with

Sometimes when you search for a color online, some color looks the same and makes you confused which one is the right one.

To clear your confusion, you have to see how they look in different lighting and decor.

Oakmoss 6180 earthy tone and chameleon-like undertones often make it confusing with different colors of the same undertones.

Understanding these nuances helps you avoid mismatches and brings you the color you want.

So to understand it better, follow my guidance and apply it when you need it most.

Sherwin-Williams Oakmoss vs Secret Garden

Oak Moss Sherwin Williams Vs Secret Garden SW

Oaskmoss SW 6180 and Secret Garden SW 6181 both are darker and deeper.

But Secret Garden is more intense and forest-like when compared to Oakmoss.

Secret Garden 6181 is more moody and saturated, which will definitely look good in the library and cabinetry.

Whereas Oakmoss feels versatile, airier and less intense which is great for a full room.

Oak Moss often looks more olive in warm light and more muted green in cooler light while Secret Garden stays deep.

When you compare them side by side, oakmoss looks lighter than Secret Garden.

Sherwin-Williams Oakmoss vs Benjamin Moore Bonsai (CC-666)

Oak Moss Sherwin Williams Vs Benjamin Moore Bonsai

Oakmoss SW 6180 and BM Bonsai (CC-666) look completely the same or you can say “the perfect match”.

However, Oakmoss is a muted, balanced green while bonsai reads as a warmer and darker green with a hint of brown.

Oakmoss is a bit brighter and more olive while you can sense a rustic and forest feel in bonsai.

Observe both colors in different lighting or do a test on a sample to perfectly differentiate between these two.

Sherwin Williams Oakmoss vs Rosemary Sherwin Williams

Making it perfect for calmer spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms.

Oakmoss works best for bedrooms and open areas where a relaxed and softer area is desired.

Check samples in the evening and you will see a deeper Oakmoss.

Oak Moss Sherwin Williams Vs Benjamin Moore Jade Romanesque

Oakmoss 6180 and jade romanessue are both nature-inspired greens, they look subtly different when you look at their undertones and overall look.

Jade Romanseque 476 tends to lean towards a true green with balanced gray undertones.

This makes this color calmer and muted and slightly cooler in certain lighting.

In practical use, oakmoss looks good in spaces where rich and enveloping colors are needed.

Whereas Jade Romanesque feels slightly modern across a range of light conditions.

Behr Amazon Jungle PPU9-24 vs Oak Moss Sherwin-Williams

Oak Moss Sherwin Williams Vs Behr Amazon Jungle

Behr Amazon Jungle PPU9-24 is a warmer and more olive concentrated color.

It can look more saturated in natural light because of its warmer yellow/olive undertones.

Side-by-side or on the wall with light shifting across them Amazon Jungle tends to look a bit deeper and warmer.

whereas Oakmoss will feel just slightly softer and more muted.

Lighting, finish and room orientation can also help you in finding the difference perfectly.

Where Oak Moss Sherwin Williams Works Best in Home Design

Oakmoss Sherwin-Williams works best across every type, style and space of a house.

But to do so, you need to perfectly place this color with its coordinating color and fixtures.

These settings would bring a harmonious and intentional visual to the overall house.

But before that, you should have a better understanding of this color.

And why or how it can make a great difference in the interior.

These are my personal reviews and trials which will put you out of the dilemma of this color.

Sherwin-Williams Oakmoss In The Living Room

Oakmoss Sherwin Williams Living Room

Oakmoss sherwin williams living room, this is the best you can do for your interior.

Your beige or brown sofas will thank you for pairing them with a color that can make them stand out.

To make it more extraordinary, just add white curtains, white windows, wood accent and a soft, muted rug.

These placements enhance the oakmoss greatly and with white trims around the ceiling and side of the walls is the cherry on top.

You will get yourself a house that is balanced, calm and vivid.

Sherwin-Williams Oak Moss Bedroom Styling: Warm, Calm & Nature-Inspired Interiors

Oakmoss Sherwin Williams Bedroom

Sherwin williams oak moss bedroom vibes depend upon the choice of color in the bedding and other materials.

Light white bedding, oakmoss panel wall and vintage style pattern duvet and pillows add a warm and textured contrast to the green walls. This makes the interior classic and soft.

For a cozy and darker vibe, matte oakmoss walls, blue-green tartan, wood accent frames and some greenery are enough to make this come true.

Wood accent fixtures and furniture play a vital role in shaping the bedroom.

Sherwin-Williams Oak Moss Cabinets: Elevating Kitchens and Storage With Rich Green Depth

Oakmoss Sherwin Williams Cabinets

Sherwin williams oakmoss cabinets across the house make the interior fresh and deepen the contrast and calmness of the house.

To prevent the house from feeling dark, pair it with white tiles on the backsplash.

White windows, steel fixtures and wooden flooring help in bringing warmth and naturalness.

For the countertops, the wood accent one brings an organic appeal, while the white ones give you that minimalist and modern look.

In the dining area, I used wood furniture and hanging lights for a romantic vibe.

Sherwin Williams Oak Moss Bathroom Styling

Oakmoss Sherwin Williams Bathroom

If your bathroom has just white tiles, which look monotonous and simple.

Then you need a change, pick oakmoss and throw it on your bathroom walls and cabinets.

In return, your bathroom will present you with a calming, bookstory kinda of interior.

To complement this decor, you just need wood furniture, brass or copper fixtures and dark brown flooring.

I use these same settings, and now whenever I enter my room, I am welcomed with a soothing and serene space.

Sherwin Williams Oak Moss Front Door: A Bold, Sophisticated Entry Statement

Oakmoss Sherwin Williams Front Door

Some might not prefer a green door on the entry because they don’t know how bold and unique this color can look.

On the house exterior, I used Secret Garden Sherwin-Williams with black trims and sherwin williams oak moss front door to balance the color palette.

With that, a hint of wood on the porch area and traditional-style lighting mounted on both sides of the door deliver a praiseworthy exterior.

Sheriwn Williams OakMoss Exterior Applications

Oakmoss Sherwin Williams Exterior

For Sherwin Williams Oakmoss exterior, you can go with either white or black trims on the sides, windows and doors.

With white trims, the vibe of your house will be calm, soft and airier.

While with the black trim makes the house look bold, contrasting and richer.

This color works best on front doors, siding, feature walls and architectural details where it adds visual depth.

Oakmoss 6180 pairs well with cream trim, stone accent, black metal and wood accent fixture and furniture.

This helps in creating a modern house that has an authentic vibe to it.

Conclusion

Oak moss is more than just a color–its a emotion that you will feel completely when you introduce it to your house interior.

With Oak Moss Sherwin-Williams, you can achieve great things and complete your house aesthetic beautifully.

Whether you used it in your bathroom, bedroom, cabinets or exterior of the house.

The rich olive undertones are going to perfectly blend with wood tones, bold metals and soft neutrals.

It’s a design-friendly color and an easy choice for the homeowners who are looking for a warm, deep and elegant interior for their house.

From confusing color to coordinating, you will get everything in this color.

But that’s the beauty of this color, so be prepared.

And if you’re looking to add richness, character and a connection to nature without overwhelming your space.

Oak Moss is a standout color that offers visual impact and style.
