These days, people want a colour that creates a calm, serene and comfortable vibe in their home’s interior as well as exterior.

If you are among those people then Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore 1649 is the colour you should choose.

Personally, I feel like this colour has that blue ocean vibe or a clear sky in summer vacations.

This colour reminds me of my childhood sky, bright, clear and full of colours.

Polaris blue 1649 has that dusty mid-tone blue and cool vibe that works beautifully on the interior, making it vibrant and bright.

This colour is not that intense however, bright enough to add a sense of tranquillity.

Subtle gray undertones soften the blue enhancing versatility and making it easy to pair with both warmer neutrals and whites.

I will tell you where and why you should use this colour and how it will behave against your house features and colours.

And how you can achieve an exquisite space in your own house with a proper understanding of polaris blue.

Understanding Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore 1649

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore 1649

Polaris blue Benjamin Moore is a colour that has an undertone of gray which can make the exterior appear soft and bright.

It’s a mid-reflective colour with an LRV of 29-30.

This colour is going to shine in morning light and make the space more depthful in the evening with its grey undertone.

Works best with south or north-facing room directions.

Benjamin moore offer this colour in various finishes like matte, glossy finish or egg-shell options to suit individual preferences.

You can use this colour in your bathroom, bedroom, entry, or cabinets around the house.

Polaris blue comes under a cool tone colour so it’s going to work best with wood, brass or golden colour themes.

Around the walls, you can pair it with white trims to bring a brighter and more spacious look.

What Are The Undertones Of BM Polaris Blue 1649?

You have to understand the importance of undertones while choosing the paint for your house.

A wrong undertone often doesn’t meet the vibe you wanted to create for your house interior or exterior. These undertones decide the final appearance of your home.

Polaris blue has a subtle gray undertone, making it calm and modern.

Gray undertones work best in natural or white lighting rather than the warm ones.

This type of lighting makes gray spark through the walls.

Gray undertone colour paints offer a serene and warm appearance when you pair them with wood furniture, golden tapes and hangers around the bathrooms or white trim across the house.

These pairings create contrast and make the blue stand out perfectly and beautifully.

LRV of Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore Explained

LRV refers to the percentage of light that a particular paint is going to reflect.

Benjamin Moore Polaris Blue has an LRV of 29, which makes it sufficiently reflective but deep enough to hide any flaws.

This colour tendency is to absorb the light and give a matte finish look.

This colour works best in wide and open areas making the room more contrasting and well-balanced. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use it in small spaces.

Pair it with neutral trims and white lighting and you’re good to go.

Due to its low LRV, this color intensifies in north lighting which makes the space moodier and cozier.

If your vibe leans towards a house that is bright and airy in the morning and warm, cozy and moody in the evening, Polaris Blue should be in your cart.

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore review

So this is my very honest Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore review, which made my room bright and aesthetic.

I used it on my bedroom walls because I love it when my room feels rich yet moody and airy.

In the bedroom, this color welcomes you with a Pinterest kind of interior feeling, airy yet deep enough to give a rich and matte look.

Pair Polaris Blue with white curtains and wood fixtures to create an interesting and warm look.

This colour reflects well, creates depth, and works well with different materials.

I think this should be enough for you to create your dream interior and time to give life to your saved photo reference.

How It Looks On The Surface

On the surface, it’s a very sky kind of blue but when you see it in different lights and settings you will realize the true nature of this colour.

It has a very smooth and creamy-looking texture with a fair amount of blue and gray.

This colour has a subtle gray hint to it which gives a matte and modern appearance.

To be more specific, your home is going to look profound and magical in white and natural light.

Maintenance And Durability

Polaris Blue doesn’t show dirt as easily as very light colours yet it still keeps spaces feeling open.

The subtle gray undertones help reduce minor imperfections or smudges.

I normally wiped it off with a damp cloth or mild detergent.

Making it best for the living room, hallways or kitchens.

Benjamin Moore’s paints offer good resistance to scuffs, mild abrasion and fading when applied with a primer.

Texture And Appearance

Benjamin Moore Polaris Blue appears refined and smooth.

This colour gives a subtle look to the space without overwhelming the look.

This setting makes my bedroom shine when I open my windows in the morning and makes it cozy when I study under my white lighting.

This color shade works best with neutral colours like white or black and when paired with copper or bronze fixtures.

Best Uses Of Polaris Blue

Polaria blue works best in spaces where you want a modern, subtle and calm vibe.

The living room, office or a bedroom (like I used) can light up with this colour.

In the kitchen, the blue cabinets with black handles and cream walls make it more lovable and homely.

In offices it adds focus and depth without feeling heavy.

Polaris Blue also looks beautiful on accent walls and interior doors giving subtle contrast while staying elegant.

Polaris Blue Pricing Guide

Polaris blue comes in various sizes and prices, the choice depends upon your preferences.

For the sample size the cost is around $5-$7 and $45-$60 for a full gallon.

I bought the regal one which cost me around $70 but the finish was very satisfying. So it was worth it.

Prices may vary according to the location and the finish you want, but higher-end ones usually offer better coverage, durability, and long-term value.

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore vs Similar Blue Paint Colors

Mineral Alloy (1622)

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore (1649) vs Mineral Alloy (1622)

Mineral blue and polaris blue are both blue-gray mid-tone colors that confuses people because of their similarity.

But mineral alloy leans towards grayer with a subtle muted vibe while polaris blue is much on the bluer side.

To tell them apart you need natural or cool lighting because this will make Polaris Blue look more vibrant, while Mineral Alloy will stay muted and calm.

Sea Reflections (1664)

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore (1649) vs Sea Reflections (1664)

If you place them side by side, sea reflection appears more vivid while polaris blue is more relaxed and cool.

Sea reflection is used to make an impact and presence.

Sea reflection has a very blue tone, making it brighter in natural lighty and more blueish in warm light.

Simply, Sea Reflections = more vibrant and richer blue, while Polaris Blue = softer, more muted blue.

Water’s Edge (1635)

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore (1649) vs Water's Edge (1635)

Water’s edge has a lighter, softer blue-gray that feels muted and calm while polaris is richer with balanced gray undertones.

Water‘s edge has a lrv of 31.48 making it more reflective than Polaris.

Water’s Edge leans more toward a misty blue-gray tone.

In bright daylight water’s edge looks brighter and more washed-out while polaris looks like a deep blue.

Water’s edge when you look more grayer compared to polaris blue.

Philipsburg Blue

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore (1649) vs Philipsburg Blue

Philipsburg blue appears darker and richer compared to Polaris and also has a low LRV which absorbs light and creates a dramatic look.

Philipsburg Blue will look much darker in low light and richer in bright light.

So when you compare them, you will definitely see Philipsburg to be more moody and saturated. Great for accent walls, feature areas to make them stand out.

Coordinating Colour with Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore

We use coordinating colours to enhance a particular space by using them as accents, trims and in fixtures and furniture. With white trim on ceilings, keep the space bright and modern.

Popular White trims like Simply White create high contrast with Polaris Blue.

Beige and grays such as Edgecomb gray or pale oak soften the space making the blue undertones toned down.

For a sleek look, Stonington gray and gray owl make the space cohesive and modern.

Kendall charcoal, Saybrook sage or black accent creates boldness and adds depth.

Natural wood accent flooring or furniture and fixtures offer warmth and a great texture to the overall house.

With Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore 1649, a dark or striking colour that complements or enhances its view should be your choice rather than any other colour.

Keep your trim light, main neutrals warm and your accents darker to create a layered colour scheme.

Using Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore Across Different Spaces

Benjamin Moore’s Polaris Blue is a versatile colour that works across every room of your choice.

Whether it’s your bathroom, living room, and cabinets, this colour is going to make that space modern, bright and calm.

You just have to put it nicely with coordinating colours and warm furniture and fixtures.

A well-lit room or space enhances the colour and makes it well-balanced.

The following are my views and opinion of this colour in different spaces of the house.

Polaris Blue Bathroom

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore Bathroom feels like a bathroom from a luxurious hotel and spa.

It pairs perfectly with white tiles, polaris blue cabinets, a round mirror with a golden frame and some white fixtures.

Bronze or copper tapes and hangers create a nice contrast making the appearance rich and contemporary.

Soft lighting helps in amplifying the overall look and offers a softer look against polaris blue gray undertone.

Some decorative greenery around the mirror and cabinet area offer a more natural and homely vibe.

Polaris Blue Cabinets

Benjamin Moore Polaris Blue cabinets around the kitchen and house with black or golden handles make them stand out.

This setting brings a homely and cozy vibe which is better than an overly modern and dark vibe.

Wood tones around the mirror and in hardware around the bathroom introduce warmth and serenity.

For the kitchen area, you can go with wooden flooring and a dark brown countertop with some warm lighting around the dining area.

This setting creates an organic and natural balance of colours against Polaris Blue.

Polaris Blue Bedroom

Benjamin Moore Polaris Blue bedroom creates a calm, peaceful and a space just for your comfort.

The gray undertones help in calming the vibe and make it ideal for sleep and rest.

Neutral bedding or a light gray colour bed with creamy pillows are some combinations that suit the blue-gray walls interior.

Natural wood furniture and frames on the blue wall warm the interior and make it homey.

Soft textures like linen curtains and soft rugs in neutral colour introduces a sense of elegance and comfort.

Warm lamps in the evening and large windows in the morning bring light to the polaris blue, making it airy and softer.

Benjamin Moore Polaris Blue exterior delivers a classic and airy aesthetic.

Polaris blue with black trim across the exterior makes the look contrasting and depthful.

While with white trims, it offers a breathy, natural and inviting atmosphere.

Wood accent, metal accent or gray stone cladding wall with polaris blue works best in classic, modern and craftsman house styles.

Polaris blue on the exterior makes it curb-appealing by creating a striking and modern look.

Living Room with Polaris Blue

An Image of Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore Living Room

In the living room, Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore 1649 feels like a perfect colour, which is not too bright and not too dark.

White, cream, beige or light blue coaches with golden frame pictures and brass or black accents look beautiful with the blue interior.

White fixtures or lighting, a wood accent coffee table and some ceramic jars with greenery enhance the look of blue, making it contrasting and giving a moody vibe.

Create a combination of white, blue, wood and golden colour in the living room for variety and vividness.

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore: Best and Worst Situations

If you want a house that is bright, calm and has a timeless appeal, you should definitely go for Polaris Blue.

It works best in spaces where you want a relaxing vibe such as bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and reading corners.

If your room gets good natural light, then run for this colour.

This paint is going to make the space more reflective and airy.

It’s also a great option if you like neutral and balanced colours that pair perfectly with white trim, wood furniture and metal accents.

But when should you not use this colour? You might have to skip this colour if your room is dark and doesn’t have access to that much light.

Because this colour is going to make it darker and dull.

Polaris blue has a gray undertone and muted vibe, which makes it heavy if used in small spaces with dark furniture.

So if your choice leans towards soft, elegant and ethereal and you have a big and bright room, then choose this colour blindly.

Conclusion

Now that we have reached the end of this guide, I hope this helps you imagine a home that feels thoughtful, beautiful and more put together.

Benjamin Moore Polaris blue is the colour that will make both your exterior and interior shine through the walls.

More than anything my goal is to help you experience a house that feels balanced, finished and welcoming.

Polaris Blue Benjamin Moore 1649 has that rich gray undertone that gives a matte and airy look to the house.

When I applied this paint, it instantly made my room brighter and more aesthetic.

If your preference leans towards a soft, bright and cool house then run for this colour.

I would recommend not to fall for trends, and first sample the color in your space before committing to it.

So in the end, you will not be disappointed when you see it and regret your decision.

I hope you and your house will get along with this paint and create a house that you are going to love for years.
