Three months later, the subfloor had rotted through completely. The repair bill landed at $3,400.

That experience rewired how I think about maintenance — everything from my home to every system I rely on day to day.

A small crack in a driveway may appear purely cosmetic. But these things rarely stay small.

The mental cost of deferred maintenance is real.

Every day I walked past that dripping sink without fixing it, part of my brain was quietly logging it as an unresolved problem. That background noise accumulates.
